Uncertainty!
Uncertainty!
The situation here is uncertain as the university is trying to play me in any way possible-mind games. They are looking for a loophole to cancel my admission- I, however, called their bluff, saying my admission was completely legal, and I will not hesitate to go directly to the governor if they try anything against me. I am having my midterms, and they keep pulling me out of my exams to question me about things that were already resolved-mind games. Endless meetings with police, authorities, reporters. The college authorities are coming to my hostel several nights in a row after 10:00pm and asked to meet with me. I told them not to sleep or else sleep so they could see me during business hours-mind games. Pray the situation fizzles out as I already won the case and received all my demands for the girls here. Pray for me as my application for renewing my visa is getting close. Picture above: through all the stress of what they’re throwing at me and that during exams, I went after one paper with some friends from my department to lunch and to enjoy laughter instead of more fruitless meetings. The girl who is with me was also with me at the protest and spoke because she was part of that organization who held the protest as well as a part of that tribe, which was a tribal group. However, after being bribed by the college, they stopped supporting me and started pressuring me to drop the case-so she left the organization because they say any grief for Delaney is grief for me. Praise God for good friends. Pray for the name of the Lord to be glorified and for the Word to go forth in all of this! During one meeting, the committee asked me, “why did you put yourself at risk for the sake of these girls? Do you consider yourself to be some kind of messiah?” To which I replied, “no, but I believe in the one true Messiah, and He is why I am doing these things for the girls.” Praise God for a real insight into the culture and language as I am now fluent enough to be having serious discussions with important people in Pashto, easily write my exams in Pashto, and see firsthand the culture being displayed as I get to witness “Pakhtunwali” (the Pashtun code of conduct) in action by things like forming a “jirga” for conflict resolution, tribal and familial ties and affairs (milaater), and more unique aspects to the society I live in. Pray for the Kingdom to come here. Pray for a potential opportunity to volunteer “next door”. Thank you all for praying!
