Against Injustice

 Against Injustice!

The week before an exam, most colleges have fun events to distress the students. Yet  here, the week before the exams, there were several protests, political rallies, and marches by various student organizations. Police are everywhere on campus trying to maintain a presence to discourage any demonstrations and try to keep the peace. One student organization gave a protest against the injustices in the hostels as well as the harassment of the students by the college management. No one else was there to represent the girls’ hostel. I also gave a speech expressing our concerns. (. The above is a picture of me with my friend who, though not living in the hostel, is part of the organization. We were the only female students who spoke up) After the speeches, they marched to the VC- head of the university office and demanded to speak to him. When he didn’t come out, the boys ripped the doors off the building with their bare hands and took him out to discuss all the complaints and concerns. All the hostel girls were so happy that I stood up to speak the truth and help them in their need, but now the college is facing embarrassment from the protest going viral. Pray for any repercussions that may come. Pray for me as I study for midterms. Pray for the girls here to receive proper treatment as they have become so strict now as to not allow girls to go to the hospital on weekends if they’re sick, and whoever asks to go to the hospital is accused of trying to meet with boys and is ridiculed, and we are still facing all our previous issues. Thank you all for praying!
