5 shall chase 100

In 2024 five believers were baptized in the heart of Islam. While that may not seem significant to you, it rippled deeply in the spiritual kingdom surrounding us. It is something that hasn’t happened in a long time, perhaps centuries. Baptism declares loudly the departure from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son Jesus. The accuser of the brethren takes full note that his darkness, his blindness, his assault against God has been broken.

God is the God of the impossible. In fact, I often see that God waits for the impossible so that He can demonstrate who He is above all power and authority. He took 900,000 people with Moses and marched them on dry land across the Red Sea and then he took 2 to 3 times that 40 years later across the Jordan. He took a simple cupbearer, Nehemiah, in a king’s inner circle who along with a few brave and faithful followers rebuilt the destroyed walls of Jerusalem. He took three men who stood for truth and when they were thrown into a fiery furnace, He stood with them so that not even the smell of the fire was upon them.

The phrase ‘5 shall chase 100’ is found in Leviticus 26:8. This chapter is entitled the Promise of Blessing and Retribution. Only 13 verses speak about the blessing that occurs when we walk in obedience before the Lord, whereas 32 verses are spoken to those who do not obey. In the case of walking before the Lord in obedience which we as believers are enjoined to do by Jesus as well, (John 14:15, 21, 23-24) God says he will bless us abundantly but also, we will chase the enemy of our souls. That enemy today holds 2 billion Muslims in a grip of darkness. As I teach on the Holy Spirit to believers that have come out of darkness, I have come to understand how deep that darkness is that lies upon the world and how simple presentations of the truth of God in the Word removes the fog of blindness from their eyes.

There are ways you can participate in this ministry to help those believers and to see the darkness penetrated and swept away.
1. You can pray, and I am not talking about adding Mecca to a prayer list. Rather read Acts 12:1-19. In this story Peter is imprisoned, most likely to be beheaded the next morning. In verse 5 it says, ‘constant prayer was
offered to God for him by the church’. In fact, they prayed all night. Deep passionate prayer, Gethsemane like prayer, ‘standing and seeing the salvation of our God prayer’, that’s the kind of prayer that ‘breaks the bars asunder and sets the captives free.’ (Psalm 107:16-18; 146:7-8)
2. You can give. We have 28 staffers across 18 nations in the Muslim world that penetrate the darkness as well. They preach the gospel, help the helpless, encourage the believers and believe God in their own country. The gospel was preached, and teaching was given across many of the social platforms. Last year over 35 million views were noted. That work was supported by faithful givers like you.
3. You can go. Numbers of individuals have gone into these countries with the view of bringing the gospel. The Muslim world is hungry for hope. Islam has disappointed them. Jesus is their only hope.

The second half of that phrase in Leviticus 26:8 is ‘and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight.’ Can you begin to pray that we will see 100 new baptized believers in the heart of darkness this year?
