Can I ask you about Jesus?

Can I ask you about Jesus?

“I’ve been wanting to discuss Christianity but the Christians I know are not willing to talk about it,” he said.
“Kendall isn’t scared; she’s a mullah (religious leader),” his cousin assured.
A golden opportunity.

After class one day, I found myself in such a lively discussion with two of my classmates about why the Quran affirms the Injeel (New Testament) as truth yet the Injeel does not allow the Quran to be true, why the messages and rules of the books are different despite the Quran claiming to affirm the message of the Injeel, etc.
Now past lunch time and not wanting to end such an important and interesting discussion, we decided to go to the university of Peshawar canteen (the only place where you’ll find co-ed seating) and continue the discourse over lunch.
On the way there, we passed my classmate’s cousin who studies in university of Peshawar. He said he had been wanting to meet me to discuss what I believe since his cousin had told him there was an outspoken Christian in his class. We were already on that very topic, so we invited him to come along and join the conversation.
Despite having the perfect beard and hat for religious extremists, he not only was open to a logical examination of the Quran and the Bible, but even himself undermined the classic ridiculous Islamic rebuttals as well was pointing out the one-sidedness of most Islamic appeals that his cousin would throw in. He appeared to be on the search for truth no matter where it would lead and we concluded with him saying “if I put forth a statement that can be logically accepted then Kendall should become Muslim, but if she puts forth a statement that can be logically accepted then I should become Christian”, and promising to meet again.
Pray for seeds planted to grow and bear fruit.

Winter break is almost here, and I plan to spend it in Chitral with my roommate. Pray for Faryal as she continually expresses her fear of the judgement day as well as distancing herself from Islamic rituals like ceasing to do the required prayers, saying that she knows I will pray for her. Pray she comes to believe the hope she knows I have. Pray for our time in her village which is much more free than Peshawar and very naturally beautiful, so I will enjoy the welcome break.

(Picture above) My classmate’s cultural stall at a festival for the pacifist movement. They gave me some walnuts, and the next day my classmate told me his other friends there did not realize that I was foreigner or they would have given me more gifts. I was proud of my language skills to have fooled native Pashto speakers into thinking I’m Pashtun.

Keep praying for my visa. It ends next Saturday yet I did hear from the Interior Ministry so I know they are processing it now.
I was put in contact with an Afghan believer who supports the underground there. I have been translating worship songs into Pashto so now I am sending them to him to create more resources for believers there as the small number of Pashtun believers has made for a lack of worship songs with only own known hymnal and some songs on YouTube mainly put forth by the Punjabi Christians in KPK since they also speak Pashto.
Merry Christmas! Thank God for the hope for Emmanuel, the Word become flesh!
